Barry Aerial Delivery Cargo Nets are used worldwide for air transport of cargo or equipment to sites on the ground or water by aircraft.
Aerial delivery operations are performed via fixed-wing aircraft rotary-wing aircraft and UAVs both military or civilian.
Our Aerial Delivery Cargo Nets fall under two categories:
Airdrop and Extraction: loads are contained in cargo nets which are attached to a parachute and dropped from an aircraft. The air drop cargo nets may undergo shock-loading as the parachute deploys and decelerates the free fall of the load during descent.
Underslung Sling-load: cargo or equipment is loaded in an external transport cargo net and attached to a sling (strop, short line or long line) which is connected to a cargo hook attached to the structure underneath the helicopter and carried externally as NHEC to a designated location. These loads are considered as static loads, although the design of the cargo nets and slings take into account flight load factors and aerodynamic factors.
