Technical Sales AdvisorMontreal, QCFull-timeSales View details Hide details
The role
You become our customers' technical advisor: understanding their needs, recommending the right solution, preparing quotes, and following projects through from first enquiry to delivery. You take on a portfolio of existing customers while developing new business.
This is not catalogue selling. You solve real problems for customers whose operations — and sometimes people's safety — depend on the quality of your recommendation. Our products are highly technical, and learning them takes curiosity. That is exactly what makes the work interesting.
What you will do
- Act as the main point of contact for your customers and build lasting relationships.
- Analyse technical requirements and recommend the right solution.
- Prepare quotes and follow them through to order.
- Coordinate orders with our product development, production and logistics teams, from quote to shipment.
- Respond quickly to enquiries and resolve issues resourcefully.
- Develop new accounts through prospecting and qualifying inbound enquiries.
- Keep the CRM current and the opportunity pipeline active.
- Represent Barry at trade shows, customer visits and technical training sessions.
Who we are looking for
- You like helping people: your satisfaction comes first from solving the customer's problem.
- You are curious, dependable, respectful, and willing to learn.
- You are resourceful, adaptable, and steady when things do not go to plan.
- You genuinely enjoy teamwork and collaborating beyond your own department.
- You are organised and thorough, and you handle several files at once.
Experience in our industry is valuable, but it is not always necessary. Background in aerospace, helicopter operations, utilities, rope, lifting, rigging, safety equipment, construction or industrial manufacturing is an asset. Any experience showing a natural grasp of how equipment and mechanical systems work will be considered.
Requirements
- Fully bilingual, spoken and written (French and English) — most of our customers are outside Quebec.
- Experience in technical sales, account management or customer service.
- Solid computer skills (Microsoft suite, CRM; ERP an asset).
- Valid driver's licence.
What we offer
- Competitive compensation and a sales team that works together.
- In-depth training on our products and markets, supported by an experienced team.
- Extended health insurance, life insurance, paid time off, employee assistance program, and on-site parking.
- A product that means something: equipment that protects people in more than 30 countries.
- Travel worth taking: trade shows, customers and training across Canada, the United States and internationally.
Location
On site at our facility at 6110 boulevard des Grandes-Prairies, Montreal (Saint-Léonard), with occasional travel.

Production PlannerMontreal, QCFull-timeOperation View details Hide details
The role
Reporting to the Production Manager, you plan and schedule our operations. Your work determines what gets made, in what order, and with which resources — and whether the customer receives their equipment on the date we promised.
This is a coordination role at the centre of the plant: you work with sales, purchasing, production and logistics. Our products are technical and often custom-built, which makes planning more demanding — and more interesting — than in series production.
What you will do
- Build and maintain the production schedule against objectives and priorities.
- Sequence operations to optimise the allocation of labour and raw materials, and to meet committed lead times.
- Give sales and purchasing accurate production lead times for quotes.
- Process new orders and release new projects into production.
- Open and close projects, allocate finished material to orders, and prepare delivery note requests.
- Follow up on quality and inventory in support of the production teams.
- Identify and report non-conformances to feed continuous improvement.
- Propose and implement improvements that increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Uphold safety and quality standards.
- Cover operations management when the team is away.
Who we are looking for
- You are organised and thorough, and you juggle several priorities without losing track.
- You have an eye for detail and you like understanding why a plan went off course.
- You communicate well and you work readily with other departments.
- You are curious, dependable, respectful, and willing to learn.
Experience in team management or quality control is an asset.
Requirements
- College or university diploma in operations management, industrial engineering or a related field.
- Three to five years in production planning or operations coordination, with a strong scheduling component.
- Advanced Excel: complex formulas, pivot tables.
- Fully bilingual, French and English.
- Familiarity with an ERP is an asset.
What we offer
- Competitive compensation and a production team that works together.
- In-depth training on our products and processes, supported by an experienced team.
- Extended health insurance, life insurance, paid time off, employee assistance program, and on-site parking.
- A product that means something: equipment that protects people in more than 30 countries.

Shipping and Receiving ManagerMontreal, QCFull-timeLogistics View details Hide details
The role
You own all shipping, receiving, warehousing and logistics operations. Every order that leaves Barry goes through you: on time, properly packed, with correct documentation.
This role combines the floor and the screen. You prepare and check shipments, and you use our systems to improve how the work gets done. We want our shipping department to be a model of organisation and efficiency — you are the person who will take it there.
You will progressively take over from a colleague with exceptional experience, who will be there to pass on what they know. This role is built for the long term.
Shipping
- Prepare, verify and ship orders according to set priorities.
- Pack safely and professionally, and build pallets to customer and carrier requirements.
- Verify that all documents are accurate before goods leave, and produce the required labels and certificates.
- Coordinate pickups with carriers.
- Improve packing methods to raise quality and reduce costs.
Receiving and warehouse
- Receive and inspect goods: quantities, products, documentation.
- Report any non-conformance promptly.
- Keep the warehouse clean, structured and safe, organised so products are found fast.
- Continuously improve how the space is organised.
- Take an active part in periodic inventory counts.
Logistics and transport
- Prepare domestic and international transport documentation.
- Ensure shipments comply with customs requirements.
- Work with carriers to resolve exceptions quickly.
- Verify and approve freight invoices.
- Evaluate carriers, take part in contract negotiations and in reducing logistics costs.
Systems and continuous improvement
- Use our management systems daily and keep the data accurate.
- Take part in rolling out new working methods.
- Spot opportunities to improve quality, speed and efficiency.
Leadership
- Own your department with autonomy and become the go-to person for shipping.
- Train and support new employees, and coordinate the work of one or more colleagues as needed.
- Maintain a positive, collaborative working climate.
Health and safety
- Follow and promote health and safety best practices.
- Take an active part in inspections and audits.
- Stay alert to facility security and report anything unusual.
Who we are looking for
You like things done properly. When someone walks into your department, they can see straight away that everything is under control.
- You handle several priorities at once and solve the unexpected without losing your composure.
- You enjoy working on the floor as much as using software to improve the way things are done.
- You have natural leadership and work well on your own initiative.
- You are curious, dependable, respectful, and willing to learn.
Requirements
- Experience in shipping, receiving, logistics or warehouse management.
- Solid knowledge of shipping and transport documentation.
- Strong computer skills.
- Fluent French and English, spoken and written.
Assets
- Experience with an ERP or management software.
- Knowledge of customs procedures.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Forklift operator certification.
- Experience coordinating a team.
What we offer
- Competitive pay, among the best in the industry, based on your experience.
- A permanent full-time role with a high degree of autonomy.
- Extended health insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, paid time off, employee assistance program, and on-site parking.
- An experienced team ready to share what they know, and real room to grow.
- A product that means something: equipment that protects people in more than 30 countries.
