Barry D.E.W. Line® Creepage Extender Sheds are a patent-pending, innovative solution designed to enhance the safety of live-line workers. They can be easily installed or removed from insulating tools without adhesives. Their use may disrupt the streamer propagation path and velocity by increasing the creepage distance.
Made from reliable dielectric materials, these sheds are highly resistant. Their position and quantity can be adapted based on voltage levels, the type and length of the insulating tool, and climatic conditions.
Technical:
2-part system for ease of installation / removal, inspection, cleaning, transport or storage
Non-metallic bolted assembly (requires no heat, glue or adhesives)
Robust and durable for repeated use
Reusable
Protects insulating tools when laid flat or stored
Applications:
Hot sticks, strain poles, link sticks, and other insulating tools
Insulating ladders
Barry D.E.W. Line® rope tools
Advantages:
Disrupts streamer propagation and velocity
Increases creepage distance
Can be used as a marker for Minimum Approach Distance (MAD)
