Inspecting your commercial diving gear regularly is critical, especially after the off-season. The inspection process is simple – here’s a quick list of important elements to verify. For a detailed inspection guideline, please refer to our instructions manual for Barry diving harnesses.

Critical checklist:

1- User Instructions Manual

Do you have the current user manual and inspection logbook for your harness?

2- Identification label

Is it there? Is the serial # and information legible?

Is the system older than its maximum service life?

3- Hardware

Are there any damaged, rusted or broken components?

4- Webbing

Are there any frayed or damaged textile components? Broken stitches and webbing in the attachment points are critical points to verify.

5- Dyneema Rope (attachments)

Any damage, discoloration, abrasion or cut strands?

6- Each of the other components

What is the general condition of the system?

If your inspection reveals a defective condition, remove it from service and contact us for more information on our replacement parts, repairs/refurbishing or to obtain a new harness.

Have a great day!
