Features
Warning
These specifications apply to new rope when tested under laboratory conditions.
Safety factor: Breaking strength is not the working load limit (WLL) or safe working load (SWL). The user or system designer must determine the WLL by dividing the breaking strength by a safety factor. High-frequency usage, unknown rope history, less-than-ideal environmental and storage conditions, use of knots, poorly trained users and a high degree of risk on life or property are all factors that require a higher safety factor.
Wear: All ropes wear out with use and wear may not be detectable by visual signs only. Therefore it is recommended that the rope user determine retirement criteria for ropes in their application. Periodic as well as before and after-use inspections will also be required.
Compatibility: The user or system designer must validate compatibility of the rope with all other system components. All printed statements, data and recommendations are based on reliable information and tests, and are presented without any guarantee or warranty. Statements regarding the use of Barry products and processes are not to be construed as recommendations for use in violation of any applicable laws, regulation, or patent rights.
